A Holiday Party Look

I had my work Christmas party last week, and I was really pleased with the way everything looked, so I wanted to share. As I mentioned in my wishlist post, the dress was chosen on the ‘recommendation’ of a local-to-me beauty blogger Elle Florence and can be purchased at Nordstrom.

I kept my makeup fairly simple, but a little bit darker than usual. I used MAC Stormy Pink Paint Pot as a lid colour, smoked out with a taupe colour from an old Lorac palette, Urban Decay’s Desperation Liner, my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop and the Clio Lipnicure in Tension Red.

And now, for the fun part!… Photos! If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you may have already seen the outfit, but here are a few more! Unfortunately, I never got a chance to take a proper outfit photo, so I just have a few candids, but I’m still happy with how they all turned out. I didn’t get any with my coat,  either, for the same reason. (I’m still new to the fashion blogging thing… sorry!)

ks-christmas-party-03I really enjoyed the makeup, though. It was a little bit out of my comfort zone, which is something I’ve been trying to do more often. I’m pretty new to the smoky eye thing, especially on the lower lashline. Again, because the shots are all candids, it doesn’t translate quite as well as I would have hoped, but I think it was a great look and I may attempt to recreate it sometime soon. Let me know if you’d like to see that!

ks-christmas-party-07I had a fun night, probably drank a little more than I should have, and definitely ate much more than I needed to, but these types of parties don’t happen too often and it was fun to let loose a bit. After all… ’tis the season!

Did you go to any parties this holiday season? Or will you be going? There’s still time left. I’d love to see what you’re wearing, leave me a comment!

Kisses,
Kriss

    1. Looks great! I love the diversity and it looks like you’ve got some great tips.
It feels very all over the place, though. It could be helpful to organise the posts a little bit, to make it easier to find what I’m interested in?
